The Leica Geosystems BLK2GO, software solutions from Cyclone, RTC360 and ScanStation, just a few of the products and solutions for our ‘Meet the Expert’ Klaus Rieke
Klaus has been with Leica Geosystems since 2018 as a Technical Specialist for Reality Capture Solutions, a real problem solver who alongside his work in developing the Reality Capture product suite, provides tailored training programs to his customers.
Before joining Leica Geosystems, he spent over 10 years in the field working as a surveyor and laser scanning specialist on various projects across Germany, New Zealand and the UK. His main objective is to support his clients with solutions to their daily challenges and to provide them with the expertise and training they need to take full advantage of Leica Geosystems technology.
However, this does not come without its challenges. Fast developing Realty Capture environments mean keeping up to date with the latest trends and technology, and how they can be utilised and brought in the easiest and best way to form new solutions to our customers.
I remember when I first got in touch with laser-scanning during University. A single setup taking over 45 minutes to capture a full 360 scan. Today that happens in as little as 26sec. Technology gets faster, easier to use and get adopted from novice and experts in nearly equal ways.
And this fast-developing environment is presenting some very exciting prospects for Klaus. Hardware and software developments with many new and exciting features on solutions such as the RTC360, the ScanStation working with Field360, Cyclone Register360 enhances or a new version and functionality of Cyclone 3DR.
It is all about to keep it simple and drive further automation with AI. This is happing and will be adopted more and more.
On a more personal note, Klaus is an animal lover, and owns one Pomeranian dog and two British cats. He also uploads videos of new workflows to his YouTube channel on a regular basis, increasing his reputation as a strong influencer within the field.
